NFL Player Accurately Predicts Horrific Thing Players Will Do If Forced To Stand For Anthem

Failing ESPN reported on what Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive lineman Gerald McCoy had to say regarding the proposed rule to force players to stand during the national anthem in the NFL. This is yet another NFL player to not like the proposal.

He made an appearance on Adam Schefter’s Know Them From Adam podcast, He believes there could “be an uproar” if they are forced to be respectful.

What he seems to be missing is that no one cares about athletes opinions. Show respect to the nation that makes it possible for you to play a game for a living.

“I don’t think guys are gonna like it,” McCoy said, when asked about the possible reaction from players. “I think it’s gonna be an uproar if that is to happen because you’re basically taking away a constitutional right to freedom of speech. If guys wanna have a, I guess you would call it a peaceful protest, I don’t think it’s right to take that away.”

McCoy is missing the fact that the NFL is allowed to limit their free speech while they are at work. When you work for a private company, they make the rules for you.

McCoy is a star NFL player who doesn’t kneel nor does he plan on kneeling, but he is opposed to forcing other players to stand.

The issue will be discussed during the NFL’s regularly scheduled fall meetings in New York next week.

President Donald Trump, who said last month that NFL owners should “fire” players who kneel during the anthem, tweeted early Wednesday morning:

“Commentary this morning about the Commissioner’s position on the Anthem is not accurate,” the league’s statement said. “As we said yesterday, there will be a discussion of these issues at the owners meeting next week. The NFL is doing the hard work of trying to move from protest to progress, working to bring people together. Commissioner Goodell spent yesterday with Miami Dolphins players, law enforcement and community leaders witnessing first-hand the outstanding work our players and clubs are doing to strengthen their communities. Players from around the league will be in New York next week to meet with owners to continue our work together.”

McCoy made his comments after Goodell’s memo Tuesday was widely circulated.

This is a good proposal by Goodell and after a few weeks, the outrage would die down.

  1. It doesn’t matter now. Whatever the NFL does will not make the facts go away. America now sees what kind of ungrateful thugs are being paid millions of dollars. We are sick to death of this nonsense. The NFL is history.

  2. I am a loved paying sports fan

I pay my money to be sports entertained

I do not want my paid sports ticket time to see any type of protesting

and want to entertaining football playing

and I have paid for my entertaining right to all professional sports ball playing

I see protesting all the time everywhere else that I have to put up with

    most of the time

but when pay to have my fun exciting sports entertained

then that take me away from all the damned outside concerns of everybody’s

    forced likes & dislikes

and when I go the any entertainment that I have to pay for that takes all my problems away

just for 1 or more hours

then please leave all your personal protesting likes & dislikes somewhere else

but not on a sports playing field game that I’ve paid for to enjoy

then let me enjoy your sports professions in action that I’ve paid for
