Ex – President Obama and FBI Director James Comey a short while ago were discovered to have been reliant on the currently discredited “Russian dossier” to acquire a FISA warrant on the Trump campaign.
James Comey, the man who declined to Hillary Clinton despite a heap of concrete proof that she, and a few members of her staff, knowingly broke several federal laws, obviously used the mostly discredited “Trump Dossier” to help get a FISA warrant to secretly surveil Trump’s former campaign aide, Carter Page, based on CNN.
Amid other things, the dossier claimed that Page was connected with senior Russian officials as an emissary of the Trump campaign, and talked about quid-pro-quo deals associated with sanctions, business opportunities and Russia’s meddling in the election. Page has denied meeting the officials named in the dossier and says he never made any political deals with the Kremlin.
Last year the FBI used a dossier of accusations of Russian connections to Donald Trump’s campaign as part of the approval to win approval to secretly keep track of a Trump associate, according to US officials questioned on the investigation.
The dossier has also been cited by FBI Director James Comey in some of his questionings to members of Congress in the past few weeks, as one of the sources of information the bureau has made use of to bolster its investigation, according to US officials briefed on the probe.
Obviously, as we informed back in January (see “Here Is The Full 35-Page Report Alleging Trump Was “Cultivated, Supported And Assisted” By Russia”) the dossier, gathered by ex-British intelligence official Chris Steele, was almost instantly discredited by the public at large after several glaring errors were rapidly identified and salacious tales of ‘golden showers’ and other sexual acts were also dismissed as pure gibberish.
All of this, once again, brings into question the level of ignorance and/or pure corruption that must have been included in this process provided the sheer number of people whose agreement was undoubtedly required to authorize the issuance of a FISA warrant that paved the way for Comey and the Obama administration to secretly supervise the Trump campaign.
