New Documents Released On Benghazi

Terrorism is nothing new. Sadly, it has become a constant presence in our lives since the September 11 attacks.

Each story is tragic and warrants investigation to prevent such atrocities from occurring again.

In addition to the September 11 attacks, one other terrorist attack has come to stand out among Americans.

It occurred one year to the day after the September 11 attacks, and it occurred in Benghazi. We all know the story.

Protesters were outside the US embassy there when terrorists attacked. US ambassador Chris Stevens and several American servicemen were killed.

The response in the United States is what has truly led this one event to become so well-known.

Almost immediately, the Obama administration publicly stated that the incident was not a planned terrorist attack but rather a spontaneous attack brought about by the protesters and a video.

We know now that it was a planned, coordinated attack, that Stevens had repeatedly asked the State Department for assistance in the months leading up to the attack and that calls for help on that infamous night went unanswered.

Twitchy reported that new evidence is now emerging that proves that the Obama administration knowingly lied to the American public about the source of the attacks.

And those people have yet to be held accountable for their actions.

Judicial Watch released State Department documents on Tuesday that were obtained via a Freedom of Information Act request.

The documents include “a transcript of a September 12, 2012, telephone call with congressional staffers in which then-Under Secretary of State for Management Patrick Kennedy admitted that the deadly terrorist assault on the Benghazi Consulate was not ‘under cover of protest,’ but was, in fact, ‘a direct breaching attack.’

Despite Kennedy’s knowledge one day after the attack that it was not related to the protests, the Obama administration famously sent US Ambassador to the UN Susan Rice on five Sunday news programs just four days later where she assured the country that the attack was part of a “spontaneous protest” and not a premeditated attack.

By now we all know that President Trump’s national security advisor Michael Flynn resigned on Monday following evidence that he lied to Trump and Vice-President Pence.

This time, we do have someone being held accountable for lying. But that was not the case in the Obama administration. Sadly, such accountability is unlikely, even with these latest revelations.
