BREAKING: Trump Picks Head Of Homeland Security, Liberal Heads EXPLODING

While it has not yet been confirmed, two sources close to the transition are reporting President-elect Trump will nominate Marine Gen. John Kelly to run the Department of Homeland Security. Kelly is the former U.S. Southern Command chief and the U.S. military’s longest-serving general.

As Politico reports:

With his experience leading military missions in South and Central America, Kelly is expected to match Trump’s zeal for locking down the U.S.-Mexico border and to echo the president-elect’s stance on treatment of suspected terrorists. As the leader of DHS, the 66-year-old general would also be tasked with executing Trump’s ambitious, controversial immigration agenda.

Kelly told the Senate Armed Services Committee last year that human smuggling routes “are a potential vulnerability to our homeland,” and he told Defense One in 2014 that a lack of military engagement in Central America had created a vacuum that benefited criminal networks. He is also known for opposing the Obama administration’s efforts to close the detention facility at Guantánamo Bay.

“There are no innocent men down there,” Kelly said of Guantanamo in a January interview with the Military Times newspaper.

One of Kelly’s sons was killed in action while fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan in 2010. During the funeral at Arlington National Cemetery, Kelly decided “an enemy that is as savage as any that ever walked the earth.”

This follows on the news that Trump also plans to nominate retired General James Mattis to lead the Department of Defense and picked retired Lieutenant General Michael Flynn to be his national security adviser.

Clearly, Gen. Kelly is one who understands the full nature of the threat to our homeland — including his own personal tragedy to inform what’s truly at stake.

The Republican-controlled Senate must confirm Kelly for the Homeland Security post.

Of course, liberal heads are already exploding with all Trump’s military appointments.
