In the liberal world of Hollywood, it’s incredibly rare to find an actor that is brave enough to risk their career by speaking out against Obama-loving liberals. That’s what makes Tim Allen and his hit comedy show Last Man Standing so special.
Bizpac Review reported that in a recent episode, Allen’s character Mike Baxter defended the First Amendment by slamming liberal college professors and “micro-aggressions” often prohibited on campus. It all started when Baxter’s daughter Mandy invited him to deliver a speech at her business school’s graduation ceremony, and she asks him if he’d like her to help him with the address before she sends it in.
“Send it in? What do you mean?” Baxter asks her.
Mandy then explains that a faculty committee will have to check the speech for “micro-aggressions,” which she described as an example of “objectionable words or phrases.” When Baxter gives her the speech, but Mandy stopped him immediately to tell him that the phrase “ladies and gentlemen” can’t be used “because it excludes those who don’t identify as either.”
Baxter is also told that he can’t say “America the land of opportunity,” leading him to surmise, “This list is insane. If I go by these rules, I’ll be going against everything I believe in.”
Later on, Baxter complains to his wife about what happened.
“To quote future Nobel Prize winner Lee Greenwood,” Baxter begins. “‘I’m proud to be an American.’ Not just because I have the right to speak my mind or carry an awesome gun, but because it’s the land of opportunity. Some whiny babies might not think so, but in America, if you work hard, anyone can be successful. Anyone. Anyone. Anyone.”
