Ever since Donald Trump won the presidential election, Melania Trump has largely stayed out of the public eye, choosing to let Ivanka Trump carry out many of the typical incoming first lady duties so she can focus on raising her 10-year-old son Barron. Now, details about Melania’s private life in New York City with Barron have been revealed.
Yahoo News reported that Melania regularly picks Barron up from Manhattan’s Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School in a chauffeured Cadillac Escalade with her Secret Service detail in tow. Sources say that Melania always arrives at the school “in full hair and makeup.”
Melania has made it clear that despite her husband’s new job, Barron remains her top priority.
“Barron is the priority for now,” Melania said. “He needs me at this age.”
Melania does not employ a nanny, and she says she’s “very involved in Barron’s life.”
While Barron is at school, Melania has time to work on her other projects, including the jewelry line she once designed for QVC. She also enjoys watching her favorite show How to Get Away With Murder and to call her husband, since the president-elect doesn’t text or use FaceTime.
“We love to catch up on our daily life and have dinner,” Melania said. “When you’re together and you have great conversation, it’s priceless.”
“Melania’s not a big social girl,” said stylist Phillip Bloch, a friend of the Trump family. However, friends say that when Melania does play hostess, she does the job well.
“Melania is an incredible hostess,” a family friend told Us Weekly. “She does everything from orchestrating intimate dinners to bigger things.”
Former first lady Laura Bush is reportedly helping Melania in finding an experienced social secretary to help her with her upcoming duties. SHARE this story if you think Melania Trump will be a better first lady than Michelle Obama!
